NOVEMBER 8, 2011 QIG Trunk Show at “Quilts = Art = Quilts On Sunday, November 20 at 2pm, the Quilt Inspiration Group will be having a trunk show at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn, NY. QIG is comprised of a small group of Towpath members interested in art quilts. February Workshops Remember to sign up for the FREE classes offered at the February Guild Meeting. Use this as an opportunity to learn a new technique or to connect with other Guild members for an enjoyable day. Class begins at 9:30 at our regular meeting location, the Fayetteville United Methodist Church and usually ends in the early afternoon. Teachers provide supply lists & instructions when you sign up. SERVICE PROJECT 2012 The captains are ready to choose their teams for the January Service Project meeting. Sign up today if you haven't already done so. Captains are: Debbie Bender, Kathy Barden, Barbara Goodrich, Donita Whelan, Teresa Risley, Linda Palmer, Jane Tracy, Carol Long, Dolly Monteleone. Many have signed up to make a quilt on their own. New York Beauties We'll gather at the Fayetteville Library at 12:15 on the third Tuesday, November 15th. I've checked with the desk and we can bring machines if you want. We have the room until 2. Sue Resig will demo her favorite NYB technique in January. If some one else would like to share their favorite in Nov, please let us know. Small Miracles Gallery - Please enter a small self-crafted item into this very easy Challenge. See Debbie Bender for the official 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" display card. Deadline for entry is 9:45 a.m. on the morning of the party. Members vote on Best in Show. One prize will be awarded (you must enter in order to win!) 2.) Basket Raffle - The committee needs volunteers to donate gift baskets. Please help us out; without baskets, we cannot have a basket raffle. Many guild members enjoy doing this as a group; share the fun and share the expense. Items may be new or very gently used. Sign up sheet in back of room. See point people Gaynell Dorance and Diana Yeager. Raffle tickets will be sold at the holiday party so be sure to bring some spending money so you can join in on the fun. 3.) Catered meal from Joey's Restaurant. Sign up to attend & pay today if you plan to attend the holiday luncheon. See point people Suzy Tankersley and Melissa Morgante. VERY IMPORTANT: Cover Charge of $5/member or $7/non member guest must be received no later than Nov 22nd (after today, you can mail your fee to either Suzy or Melissa). Absolutely no late fees will be accepted after the November 22nd deadline date. |
